Breakfast in a coast-guard cottage in East Prawle, free-range fried eggs, fresh coffee and the music of Atlantic breakers a hundred yards away. All 5 of us together for a week to talk & walk along the coast of Dorset. Lying on the table is a slim volume by Andrew Goudie entitled Exploration of the Western Desert by Motorcar. He is a professor at Oxford and gave it to me after his lecture at the Royal Geographical Society in 2006.
